My third album, SONGBOOK, features several works of Cole Porter, along with other popular music standards that make a great fit. I took the challenge to play all of the piano for this album and would recommend listening to a very uptempo arrangement of Cole Porter’s “All Through The Night”. This arrangement demonstrates the many ways to harmonically get from point A to point B. The listener will hear an entirely different way to interpret Cole Porter’s main progression each time, and right when you get a feel for this reharmonization the entire key is taken up one step. Burt Bacharach’s song “Alfie” also has a unique approach, adding a live warping to the pitch of the rhodes effect accompanying the vocals.
